On October 6, 2020, the media campaign “This is my street: voice of youth for road safety” starts. It is part of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) program on road safety: Global action,
The main goal of this campaign is to make the city’s streets more convenient and greener, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Special attention is paid to popularizing the use of two-wheeled transport among young people to relieve crowded roads and promote a healthy lifestyle, as well as the importance of using helmets.
The BKA team together with the Road Traffic Police and students of universities and colleges in Minsk will use bicycles and scooters instead of public transport to get to their place of study or work for one week. On their way to work or university, participants will take photos and short videos using posters with the written message: “This is my street – voice of youth for road safety” and the social media hashtag #thisismystreet.
