On the 2d of April the event “Diplomats for road safety” was held in the republican ski center “Silichy” near Minsk, Belarus. The event was attended by the heads of the diplomatic and consular corps, the representatives of international organizations in Belarus – in total more than 100 participants. The event was organized by Belarusian Auto Moto Touring Club (BKA) with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and JSC “BPS-Sberbank”.

The program of the event included theoretical and practical workshops on safe driving by master of sports of the Republic of Belarus in motorsport Sergei Ovchinnikov; the demonstration of the car extinguishing technique by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus; training on first aid for victims by the Belarusian Red Cross Society; MAZ demonstration by the silver prize-winners of the world rally-raid “Dakar 2018”; presentation of the system of driver’s gaze direction tracking; testing of the multimedia applications on road safety and much more.

It worth mentioning that diplomats were able to participate in the event together with their families. A lot of interesting locations, each of which was aimed at preventing road accidents and reducing their consequences, were organized for diplomats’ spouses and children.

Moreover, the trade fair of works made by the hands of the disabled people was presented at the venue of the event. In such a way BKA decided to support the disabled people community in Belarus.

All the attendees were highly impressed by the large-scale event, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Vladimir Makey. The head of the Ministry was the most active participant of training, being a role model for the other representatives of diplomatic and consular corps.

The event was covered by the all the major media in Belarus, including ONT (“Nation-wide Television”), CTV (“Metropolitan Television”) and the state informational agency BelTA.
